The West bank of Luxor seems quite close if you cross it via Nile by boat, it takes not more than 15 minutes.
If you take a car to the west bank than it will be longer, almost 45 minutes to reach the first archeological site available on the West bank in spite of a new very good newly built road.
The distance from the East bank of the Nile in Luxor to the West bank where the majority of the archeological sites and Luxor attractions are situated is approximately 35 km.
